I’ve been in music ministry most of my life and have always felt God’s calling from day one. I do believe each musical journey has directed my path to what is now the Jimi Bennett Band! I believe that when the Scripture says:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths,” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)

It is a calling!!!

Over time and much prayer, He brings like-minded musicians together that have a heart for reaching souls and a vision to see a great move of His Holy Spirit! This band is made up of like-minded musicians hungry to see what God has in store for us! May God bless and anoint our efforts to keep our eyes focused on the main prize: JESUS!

Singer, songwriter, musician, and preacher, Jimi Bennett formed the StarSong national recording band Sacred Fire and toured extensively through the United States with GRAMMY award-winning groups such as Petra and Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart.

When Jimi’s daughter Heidi was diagnosed with brain cancer, he took time off to be with his family. The Bennetts witnessed a miracle from God and Heidi was healed! Jimi visits many churches to share the Word and testimony of God’s grace in his life.

Concurrently, Rex Carroll was taking time off from touring with Whitecross and met with Jimi to discuss a joint project. Rex (King) and Jimi (James) came together as King James and formed Jimi’s second nationally recording band. Robert Sweet and Tim Gaines of Stryper rounded out the original lineup.

King James toured the United States and Europe with their debut self-titled CD. Rex and Jimi recorded two more King James CDs and are still open to booking dates! Jimi’s band Viktor recorded a contemporary worship CD entitled “Do You Believe” with dear friends from Petra at John Lawry’s studio. John produced the CD adding some keys and Louie Weaver did a fantastic job recording drums and continued with Jimi on tour.

Jimi continues to work on new music and is available now for speaking engagements and performance dates. He would love to come and lead worship or bring a message of hope through the word of God!

Last Generation was formed by Jon Dash and Jamie Jones in the late 80s and played festivals and church concerts through the late 90s. Last Generation found their way to the number one position on the Sound of Light radio program that was syndicated in eight states at that time.

Through this exposure, Dash’s guitar work earned endorsements from Peavey, Washburn Guitars, ADA, DigiTech guitar effects, and guitar cable companies. Jon Dash is a founding member of FYB (For You Brother) which released “Nice Money” in 2008 introducing a new, fresh sound that has produced over two hundred songs and four albums. FYB songs are currently being aired in ten countries on Foreign Affairs, Meet The Parents, Cat House, NCIS, and TNT Broadcast just to name a few. Mercedes Benz used “Rollin on Dubs” and “Shot by Cupid” for TV Commercials.

Dash studied Music Business/Management at the Berklee College of Music and was honored to become a voting member at the Recording Academy/GRAMMY Awards in 2010.

Jimi & Dash have been long time friends and are excited to be working together to bring a message of hope in Jesus!

Jean, a prodigy self-taught piano player, uses his audacious style and unique techniques to innovate and go beyond boundaries with his favorite instrument: the keyboard. Joining his first band at twelve and legendary Brazilian rock group Oficina G3 at twenty-one, Jean went from playing church gatherings, parties, and local gigs to rocking the stage at sold-out arenas and stadiums in Brazil, and numerous venues all over the world.

Now, after recording on eleven Oficina G3 albums which have sold over five million copies and received four nominations and a Latin GRAMMY Award, Jean is reaching new heights as he continues to produce new music for himself and other artists!

Jean is a stage performance pioneer who adapted and mastered a controller allowing him full control of his entire stage setup. This has brought him many accolades and, most importantly, has allowed him to engage and interact with the audience making his live performances outstandingly memorable! In accordance with this pioneer spirit, Jean has also become a visual stylist for his instruments changing their appearance on a whim with whatever materials he has at hand. He has created a signature style that paints his unique portrait both in the visual and musical arts.

As a Kurzweil, KORG, and ROLAND endorsee, Jean is a sought-after workshop speaker, always sharing his knowledge and love for the instrument, and is always ready to embark on a new journey!

lenwood morris

bass - BGV's

Lenwood was born in Beaufort, South Carolina to a retired marine father and a Japanese mother. Raised Buddhist, nine-year-old Lenwood and his brother Sam received and believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The boys felt the calling to share their faith so strongly that they would later join Benjamin Pruett and form the beloved Morris Trio.

In addition to the vocal harmonies Lenwood practiced with his brother, he also played bass in several bands through the years. His yearning to share his love of God through music made him the perfect fit for what turned out to be a long-term interim worship pastorship at Millbrook Baptist in Aiken, South Carolina. Routinely playing at Millbrook as a member of Red Letter Echo, he was introduced to Julie Mogie who then enlisted his help in creating the United Aiken Music Fest.

Lenwood, never losing his desire to serve no matter where he finds himself, is currently playing on the worship team at Macedonia Baptist in Jackson, Georgia, where his long-time friend is the worship pastor.

marty brittain

drums - BGV's

Marty has been involved with music since he was in the children's choir at church. By the time he was old enough to have a mullet of his very own, he was behind a drum kit. He later earned a vocal music degree from the University of South Carolina Aiken. He has performed at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina; the New World Music Festival in Czechoslovakia; and Westminster Abbey in London, England.

Marty takes practicing seriously and is an enthusiastic hard-hitting character actor on stage. His work ethic and crowd-pleasing style have made him a sought-after commodity where excellence in percussion has become a rarity. He has enjoyed playing in venues small, enormous, and everything in between with numerous local bands and several tribute bands portraying Ratt, Poison, Guns & Roses, Jimmy Buffet, the Bee Gees, and AC/DC. He has been called to play all the way from the northeastern tip of the United States to Guatemala, Punta Cana, and Santo Domingo. His passion for playing can only be matched by his love for seeing his friends in attendance!
